Already a genre icon thanks to Starship Troopers, Highlander and more, Clancy Brown has joined the cast of The CW’s Arrow spin-off The Flash.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brown will play recurring character General Wade Eiling, and is set to debut in Episode 5 as “the head of a black ops army team pursuing Plastique (Kelly Frye) in the hopes of using her as a human weapon.
“Described as a tall and imposing man, with ‘a face carved from years of duty,’ Eiling is fanatically intent on protecting American interests around the world, and may have ties to a central Flash character.”
In the comics, General Wade Eiling is better known as The General.
After blackmailing Nathaniel Adam into joining the experiment that transforms him into Captain Atom and disappear for well over a decade, Eiling then marries Adam’s wife.
Later, to escape a brain tumour, Eiling steals the superhuman healing, vast strength and brutish frame of Shaggy Man, a Silver Age Justice League foe capable of giving even Superman a beating.
