The Darkest Minds trailer teens with powers start a revolution

Adults are hunting powerful teenagers in the trailer for YA SF The Darkest Minds

The trailer has arrived for YA sci-fi The Darkest Minds, and it looks like it could be a promising YA spin on X-Men as powerful kids are hunted down by adults…Give it a look.

The Darkest Minds is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3) and stars Amandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games), Mandy Moore (47 Metres Down), Gwendoline Christie (Game Of Thrones), Harris Dickinson (Beach Rats), Skylan Brooks (The Get-Down), Miya Cech and Patrick Gibson (The OA). Chad Hodge adapted the books by Alexandra Bracken.

“When teens mysteriously develop powerful new abilities, they are declared a threat by the government and detained. Sixteen-year-old Ruby, one of the most powerful young people anyone has encountered, escapes her camp and joins a group of runaway teens seeking safe haven. Soon this newfound family realizes that, in a world in which the adults in power have betrayed them, running is not enough and they must wage a resistance, using their collective power to take back control of their future.”

The Darkest Minds is released on 10 August. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
