Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy is heading to BFI IMAX for Batman’s 80th anniversary

Christopher Nolan’s trailblazing Dark Knight trilogy is officially set to hit the big screen again this year to celebrate Batman’s 80th anniversary.

Warner Bros. Pictures UK and DC are returning all three films, including Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, to the biggest screen of them all, IMAX® film, in honour of the first-ever appearance of Batman in the comics. The announcement was made today by Josh Berger, President and Managing Director of Warner Bros. Entertainment UK, Eire & Spain.

The films will be released in the director’s preferred format, IMAX® 70mm, at London’s BFI IMAX and will be screened back to back from 19-22 April.

In a statement, Berger said: “Christopher Nolan broke new ground with the Dark Knight Trilogy, and this is a rare chance for today’s audiences to experience these extraordinary films as they were meant to be seen.”
