Directed by franchise veteran Michael Chaves (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Nun II), the ninth film in the Conjuring Universe is ready to scare up another batch of audiences. Horror icons Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reprise their roles as paranormal power couple Ed and Lorraine Warren, facing their darkest and most personal case yet. And yes, it’s based on real events—because what’s scarier than the truth?

This time, the haunted legacy hits home as Judy Warren (played by Mia Tomlinson) and her boyfriend Tony Spera (Ben Hardy) get pulled into the supernatural mayhem. Familiar faces return, including Steve Coulter as Father Gordon, alongside a fresh cast of victims and suspects: Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, John Brotherton, and Shannon Kook.

With a screenplay by Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, and a story co-written by Conjuring mastermind James Wan, Last Rites promises to close the book on the Warrens’ ghost files with maximum dread, heart, and spectral chaos.

Expect demonic possessions, cursed objects, shadowy hallways, and the kind of hair-raising tension that only The Conjuring can deliver. Add in a haunting score from Benjamin Wallfisch and visuals from the team behind The Nun and Annabelle Comes Home, and you’ve got a must-watch finale for horror lovers everywhere.

Ready for one last scare? The Conjuring: Last Rites hits UK cinemas on 5 September.
