The Bye Bye Man trailer puts a curse into your head

Don’t even think about the boogeyman in The Bye Bye Man trailer

A new trailer has arrived for upcoming horror The Bye Bye Man, which looks like it could either be a fun blend of “Don’t say his name” horrors like Candyman and the impending doom of Final Destination, or it could be something a lot less fun and a lot more predictable. We’ll just have to wait and see.

The film has been shuffled around a lot in the release schedules, nearly coming out a couple of times this year before shuffling along to December here in the UK and January in the US, which isn’t a great sign, but you never know.

“Three friends stumble upon the horrific origins of the Bye Bye Man, a mysterious figure they discover is the root cause of the evil behind man’s most unspeakable acts.”

The cast for the film includes Carrie-Anne Moss, who’s currently enjoying a bit of a comeback thanks to her steely turn in Jessica Jones, Douglas Smith (Antiviral, Ouija, Big Love), Lucien Laviscount (Scream Queens), Cressida Bonas (Doctor Thorne), Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica, Hush), and, somewhat unbelievably, the great Faye Dunaway, who’s playing Widow Redmon.

The brilliant Doug Jones is playing The Bye Bye Man himself, so we should at least be guaranteed some good creepy creature business.

The Bye Bye Man is directed by Stacy Title (Snoop Dogg’s Hood Of Horror and cult dark comedy The Last Supper) and it’s written by Jonathan Penner, based on a short story by Robert Damon Schneck.

The Bye Bye Man is set for release on 9 December in the UK and 13 January in the US. Keep up with the latest horror news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
