The Book Of Eli stars Denzel Washington as the titular protagonist, Malcolm McDowell as Lombardi and Gary Oldman as Carnegie, a despotic mayor. The film follows the story of Eli in his travels across the devastated wasteland of the United States, guarding a book that contains knowledge that may possibly redeem society. The film is directed by the Hughes Brothers, and released on 15 January 2010 in the United States.
