According to People, short-lived uber-cult comic-book TV series The Tick is being revived by Amazon, complete with square-jawed star Patrick Warburton.
The fan-favourite live action show which originally ran for a mere 9 episodes on Fox in 2001 was adapted by future Supernatural executive producer Ben Edlund from his satirical superhero comic of the same name.
There was also a 1994 animated series, which was nearly as good and had the best time making fun of established DC and Marvel superheroes.
The original pilot episode of The Tick was directed by Men In Black‘s Barry Sonnenfeld and the series counted Ron Perlman and Christopher Lloyd among its guest stars.
Genuinely one of the best things ever broadcast, this new series has a lot to live up to…
You can pick up The Tick on Region 1 (sorry) DVD for £3.19 from Amazon.co.uk. Find out more about the comics that inspired the show with new digital magazine Uncanny Comics.
