A recent story suggested that Captain America villain the Red Skull would feature in The Avengers, alongside Thor’s trickster brother Loki, but producer Kevin Feige has now confirmed the villain won’t appear. Speaking to Empire (taken by Bleeding Cool), Feige had this to say about the Red Skull: “Was Skull vaporised at the end of the movie, or thrust into another realm?”, says Feige. “That remains to be seen. It would be fun to see Skull in future, but he’s not in this one.” In the same interview, Feige confirmed we won’t be seeing the alien race Skrull, either – the force threatening Earth is apparently something else.
