Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has been cast as mother of the resistance Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genesis, according to Deadline.
Clarke, who was revealed to be on the shortlist a few days ago, has form with Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor, as the two worked together on the HBO fantasy series.
Those are some pretty hefty shoes to fill; not only is she stepping into the role defined by the iconic Linda Hamilton in The Terminator and (especially) Terminator 2: Judgement Day, but previous Sarah Connor Lena Headey (star of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) got an absolute pasting from ‘fans’.
Luckily, Clarke is no stranger to this sort of pressure, telling SciFiNow when she first took on the role of Game Of Thrones‘ Daenerys Targaryen, “I just wanted to keep the fans as happy as possible.
“When you’re dealing with someone’s favourite character from someone’s favourite book, you want to be very careful with how you play it.”
Wonder if she talked to Lena about it actually, it must be kinda weird…
