It may not have a UK broadcaster anymore, but MTV’s Teen Wolf already has a devoted following, a bunch of wins in its target demographic, and a clear game-plan, with Season 3 consisting of 24 episodes, double the previous two seasons.
“We have this thing called the alpha pack coming, and we’ve got some fantastic actors coming in,” teases executive producer Christian Taylor, speaking exclusively to SciFiNow.
“And we have our lead bad guy coming in too. Jeff [David, head writer and creator] likes to structure things like a movie. We’ve gone from the innocent John Hughes thing, and most of the characters have become adults. It takes a darker turn for Season 3. It’s a lot grittier and more violent, with a bigger body count.
“So, we’re moving away from the high school thing. It’s not unlike True Blood I’d say. We wanted to go for a darker, more brooding horror thing, but completely by accident there’s a lot more action stuff too. There’s a tonal shift. It gives the actors more interesting stuff to do. As the characters are maturing, there are darker issues to deal with, as with in real life.”
Teen Wolf Season 3 is airing now on MTV in the US. Teen Wolf Season 2 is out now from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, pre-order it on DVD for £15.97 from Amazon.co.uk.
