While it is still unconfirmed we must point out, the rumour mill has been churning out the story that Natalie Portman’s Handsome Charlie Films production company is looking to put together a remake of Suspiria, Italian horror legend Dario Argento’s Seventies shocker.
Portman is rumoured to be starring in the film with David Gordon Green, whose Pineapple Express comedy is currently doing pretty decent business Stateside, tipped to be handed the directing gig.
With remakes, as ever, being the order of the day, we can see there being some truth to this. There is a little bit of us, mind, that hopes it proves to be unfounded – is Hollywood so bereft of original thought that now it has remade its own Seventies horror flicks, and tapped the J-horror well till it has run dry, that they are now looking to European horrors to run through the remake mill?
