Dorky hunter Garth Fitzgerald IV only appeared in two episodes of Supernatural Season 7 but already he’s a fan favourite, thanks in part to the season’s stand-out comedy episode ‘Party On, Garth’. Actor DJ Qualls, however, hopes that for Supernatural Season 8, Garth steps up and gets revenge for all the jibes he’s taken from Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles)…

“I would like to somehow get involved in a scenario where I took either a potion or something put a spell on me, where I became enormous and beat the hell out of [Jared and Jensen],” Qualls joked at Rogue Events‘ Asylum 8 Supernatural convention.

“I want to see Garth be more of a badass,” he continues, “but I also want to see him have a love interest. I’m thinking something weird like Sharon Stone, something really weird and creepy. Somebody who’s like 30 years older than him. That’d be fun!”

Talking more seriously about the future of the loveable Garth, Qualls says, “I would like to go a little into his backstory.

“I like doing monster of the week episodes, I think they’re fun, but I would like to have a storyline. And not just because I would get to do more episodes, I think the show is interesting.”

Supernatural Season 8 is expected to air 3 October 2012 on The CW. Season 7 is out DVD from 5 November 2012, preorder it now from Amazon.co.uk for £28 or on Blu-ray for £36.
