After Dean refuses Sam’s efforts to rejoin him, he goes to bed only to wake up in the year 2014. After entering Camp Chitaqua he is knocked unconscious by his future self. Now a prisoner, Dean tries to convince future Dean that he was sent by Zachariah only to have his claims ignored. Dean manages to escape, runs into Chuck and soon finds Castiel. Following a misunderstanding, future Dean and Dean then become allies, and future Dean tells his self that he has the Colt to destroy Lucifer with. As the two travel to Lucifer’s headquarters, Dean becomes suspicious of his future self. After being knocked out (again) by future Dean, Dean wakes up in the middle of a gun battle. He witnesses Lucifer – in Sam’s body – killing future Dean. Following a confrontation Lucifer assures Dean that this version of the future will happen. Back in the present day, Dean teams back up with Sam.
