Episode 01: The Magnificent Seven

Well, the boys have really screwed up this time. Not only does Dean have a year left to live before he’s sucked into hell, but an unknown number of demons have escaped into our world, as highlighted when the episode opens with a man being possessed. While investigating reports of strange insect activity near Nebraska, the brothers are attacked by a pair of married hunters, who refuse to work with them due to the events at the end of season two. Dean, Sam, and Bobby set up for the night, while an unknown blonde woman looks on.
The next day we see a demon approach a woman in a store, using his power of suggestions to make her kill another shopper over a pair of shoes. The team checks the security footage and trace the demon to a bar, arriving just in time to see the hunters from earlier enter the building. Unfortunately, it all goes wrong, as it turns out that all seven patrons are in fact demons, and Isaac is coerced into committing suicide by drinking bleach. Dean, Sam and Bobby rescue Tamara by driving the Impala through the wall, and kidnap one of the demons as they make their escape. During the interrogation later on, they discovered that each of the seven represents one of the deadly sins. Envy is exorcised at the cost of the host, and the group prepares the house for an assault by the remaining six. Tamara nearly costs them all their lives, however, when she breaks the protective seals by attacking a re-animated Isaac. All appears lost until the mysterious blonde woman arrives, dispatching three of the demons with a knife that can apparently send them back to hell. However, she leaves before Sam can find out her name. The episode ends with Sam and Dean discussing where to go from here.
