Superman prequel TV series returns to Krypton

David S Goyer and Syfy go back before Smallville for a Man of Steel prequel series

Man Of Steel and The Dark Knight writer David S Goyer looks to be spreading himself ever more thinly across the DC universe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Goyer and Syfy – with a pilot script from Ian Goldberg (Once Upon A Time, FlashForward) – are teaming up for Krypton, which is described as taking “place years before the Superman legend we know, when the House of El was shamed and ostracized.

“This drama, which is in development, follows the Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest superhero ever known.”

Thought Smallville was a prequel? Think again, this is even prequellier.

Hopefully it’ll have Russell Crowe riding a dragonfly, but I suspect that might be outside of Syfy’s budget…
