Considering that Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) appears to be sticking around for now after his debut in the first episode of Season 2 of Supergirl, it would appear that they are facing quite the threat. As if to back this up, this promo for episode 2, ‘The Last Children Of Krypton’, seems to suggest that Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is in dire straits.
Of course, the more comic-book savvy among you will recognise this as a homage to the classic seventh issue of DC crossover event ‘Crisis On Infinite Earths’, in which Superman cradles his lifeless cousin in his arms. While we’re sure she won’t actually be dead, it does give a hint at the scale of the threat that they’re up against.
Still, it’s a nice touch, with the Supergirl team having prior form when it comes to comic-inspired posters, bearing in mind their lovely The Flash/Supergirl combo from last season. Hopefully there will be many more of these to come.
The cast of Supergirl Season 2 include Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, Calista Flockhart, Tyler Hoechlin, Katie McGrath and Lynda Carter.
