Scoop farmers Latino Review reports that Viola Davis, the Oscar nominated star of The Help and Doubt, has been offered the role of Waller, the prison warden charged with sending the Suicide Squad on their missions. She’s all business and she’s got the kind of cold bloodedness required to send mass-murders and psychopaths on government sanctioned operations.
The problem might be that Davis has a packed schedule. She’s currently starring on Shonda Rhimes’ latest show, How To Get Away With Murder, which might make starring in a mega blockbuster kind of tricky. Still, Latino Review say the role is hers if she wants it.
Davis was previously said to be one of the final three in contention for the role, along with Oprah Winfrey and Davis’ The Help co-star Octavia Spencer.
Suicide Squad is set for release in cinemas 5 August 2016. For more on the comics that have inspired the movie, pick up our 100 All-Time Greatest Comics bookazine now!
