Production is supposed to begin early next year with Tyler and several of the masked villains from the first movie expected to return. Bertino is due to be back on board, too, to write the script, however, it is unconfirmed as to whether he will occupy the director’s chair this time round. The Strangers bucked the torture porn trend and delivered some refreshingly gore-free thrills and chills, scaring up a decent $54 million Stateside from its modest $9 million budget.
