Stranger Things Season 3 ups Erica to recurring character and adds Maya Hawke

Stranger Things adds Maya Hawke to the cast and gives Erica a bigger role for Season 3

Two pieces of news for Stranger Things this week. The first is that young actor Priah Ferguson, also known as Lucas’ hilariously mean sister Erica, has been upped from a guest star to a recurring character for Season 3.

Her new role in the show will see her with her own group of friends before following in her brother’s footsteps and being whisked on her own wild mission to save Hawkins from a terrible threat.

The second piece of news is that Maya Hawke is joining the cast for Season 3 in a leading role. Hawke’s character’s name is Robin, and is described as “an alternative girl who is equal parts sharp and playful. Bored with her mundane day job, she just wants a little excitement in her life… and gets more than she bargained for when she uncovers a dark secret in Hawkins.”

Netflix announced the casting news in the following tweet:

Maya Hawke is the actor/model daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, and is known for playing Jo March in the 2017 BBC mini-series Little Women.

Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapps, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery, with Sean Astin, Linnea Berthelsen, Paul Reiser, Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery joining the cast for Season 2.
