Stranger Things Season 2 Superbowl spot is turning upside down

Ghostbusters outfits and familiar faces in the Stranger Things Superbowl trailer

The good news is that there is a new Superbowl TV spot for Stranger Things Season 2. The bad news is that it makes it clear that we’re going to have to wait a while for the show to return…Could it be anything other than Halloween?

Now that’s a teaser. Basically the only thing we can tell you about this is that Eleven’s back, the world’s getting weird, and the boys’ Ghostbusters outfits are incredible.

The Netflix press announcement doesn’t give us much to go on either. Here we go:

“About Stranger Things 2: A year after Will’s return, everything seems back to normal… but a darkness lurks just beneath the surface, threatening all of Hawkins.”

Just because you banish a Demogorgon, don’t expect everything to be fixed. That’s a rookie error. Especially when your best friend has been pulled out of the Upside Down and is vomiting worms into a sink.

The new additions for Stranger Things Season 2 include Sean Astin (a nerdy high school friend of Winona Ryder’s Joyce), Paul Reiser (a white collar fixer who’s in to clean up last year’s mess), Brett Gelman (a disgraced journalist who smells a story in Hawkins), Linnea Berthelsen (a mysterious and powerful figure), Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery (two new kids with big roles to play).

Stranger Things Season 2 will arrive on Netflix on 31 October. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
