Stonehearst Asylum new clips terrify Kate Beckinsale

Jim Sturgess does not belong in new clips from Brad Anderson’s Stonehearst Asylum

Two new clips have arrived for Brad Anderson’s Stonehearst Asylum, starring Jim Sturgess, Kate Beckinsale, Michael Caine, Ben Kingsley, Brendan Gleeson and David Thewlis.

The clips (from Arrow In The Head) give us a look at the film (previously titled Eliza Graves) from the director of Session 9, based on Edgar Allan Poe’s short story The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether.

“When a young doctor Edward Newgate (Sturgess) arrives at Stonehearst Asylum in search of an apprenticeship, he is warmly welcomed by superintendent Dr. Lamb (Kingsley) and a mesmerizing woman named Eliza Graves (Beckinsale). Edward is intrigued by Lamb’s modern methods of treating the insane…until a series of unusual events leads him to make a horrifying discovery, exposing Lamb’s utopia and pushing Edward to the limits of his conscience.”

Stonehearst Asylum is released on 24 October in the US, and 15 March 2015 in the UK. You can keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
