Spielberg’s Robopocalypse delayed but not dead

Steven Spielberg delays production on Robopocalypse, not cancelling it.

Steven Spielberg has announced that, although he’s delayed his sci-fi action extravaganza Robopocalypse, he’s not forgetting it.

It was recently reported that the film had been shut down, leaving cast members Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway free to pursue other films. But Spielberg has told Deadline that the decision was based on the fact the film wasn’t where he wanted it to be. Instead of rushing into production with a script he wasn’t happy with, he’s instead decided to take some time to think about the best possible Robopocalypse.

“I found another way to tell the story. I had an epiphany and I only have had these a couple of time during the course of my work and whenever those voices occur, I need to listen to them. I found another way to tell the story, it’s a much more personal story for me. I let my cast and crew go make other movies, while I take a half a year to get it to the place that I need it.”

Fingers crossed for a Robopocalypse we can all enjoy.
