The team end up on a ship named Destiny – an age-old vessel located light years away from planet Earth. Using some smart communication tactics, Rush contacts home and is told the news he is to take control. The team are dubious about this claim. Due to its battered state and age the ship’s support systems begin to fail. The badly injured Senator Armstrong sacrifices his life in order to seal a breach in the hull. This gives the team a little more time to get to work. The Stargate dials into a distant desert planet, which is said to house all the materials needed to repair the scrubbers. With 24 hours before certain death on the ship, the crew wait as a 12-hour countdown kicks in.
