Star Wars: The Last Jedi behind the scenes footage teases the unexpected

We could be in for something shocking in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

A new behind the scenes featurette from Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been released, giving us some new footage, interviews with the cast and crew, and more hints that we could be in for a big surprise.

At Star Wars Celebration, most of the “expect the unexpected” hints seemed to be focused on the return of Mark Hamill’s Luke. Is he going to be the wise, kindly mentor to Rey that we all assumed he would be? Probably not, but the emphasis on words like “unexpected” and “shocking” is very exciting and we’re now speculating about everyone and everything. We’ve still barely heard anything about Kylo Ren’s journey in this film, for example, although we do see him in fight training here…

Meanwhile, we got little glimpses of new characters like Kelly Marie Tran’s Rose (a rebel mechanic who’s one of this film’s main protagonists), Laura Dern’s purple-haired Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, and Benicio del Toro’s mysterious DJ. Hey, maybe that’s just his character’s name?

And, of course, there’s Carrie Fisher. Good lord, we miss Carrie Fisher.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is in UK cinemas from 15 December 2017. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
