Star Wars Celebration poster reveals Rogue One characters

The casts of Force Awakens and Rogue One stand revealed

As far as fan events for individual films go, it doesn’t get much bigger than Star Wars: Celebration, which this year will play host to guests including Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Gareth Edwards, Kathleen Kennedy and many more.

Whetting appetite for the event is this poster that has just been released, containing both the cast of The Force Awakens (and by extension next year’s Episode VIII), as well as the cast of Rogue One.

In addition the already revealed likes of Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), Chirrut (Donnie Yen) and Baze (Wen Jiang), the poster showcases a number of different types of Stormtroopers.

In addition the regular ones seen in the original trilogy, the lethal-looking (and sounding) Death Troopers are prominent – complete with ominous-looking green light-up visors – as are the more browny-coloured Shoretroopers (basically the Scout Troopers from Return Of The Jedi, only with different-coloured armour.

Not everyone’s present – from Rogue One, Riz Ahmed’s Bodhi Rook and Alan Tudyk’s K-250 remain elusive, as do Mads Mikkelsen and Forest Whitaker’s as yet unnamed characters, and no new Episode VIII characters have been shown (so no glimpse of Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern or Kelly Marie Tran’s characters), although we’ll hazard a guess that they are being saved for one of the various big reveals that we’re sure Celebration will have in store. Frankly we can’t wait…

Star Wars: Celebration will take place in London from 15-17 July 2016. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released in cinemas on 16 December 2016.
