As if responding to spite recent concerns about the lack of women in Star Wars: Episode VII, the cast has officially been expanded to include Game Of Thrones and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay‘s Gwendoline Christie and the long-rumoured Lupita Nyong’o, award-winning star of 12 Years A Slave.

“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in a press release.

“It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”

Star Wars: Episode VII is due in cinemas 18 December 2015. You can buy Star Wars: The Complete Saga for £57.99 on Blu-ray from Amazon.co.uk.
