Star Trek 2009’s sequel will release four years after its predecessor, with the JJ Abrams film debuting on 17 May 2013, according to Deadline. The film will see stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana returning, no doubt with a new villain in tow – at the moment rumoured to be played by Benicio Del Toro. The film’s original release date of June 2012 had to be shelved, since Abrams was finishing passion project Super 8.
