We all lost our fluids with excitement a little bit when it was announced that Michael Giacchino would be composing the music for Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the latest tiny taste of what we can expect is simply breathtaking.

How is it possible for 37 seconds of violins to make you feel so nostalgic and weirdly emotional?

Since he started working in film and TV 20 years ago, Giacchino has made a great name for himself in genre in particular, writing the score for projects like Doctor StrangeInside OutUp, all three Star Trek films, and Lost, among other things. His work has probably made you cry at some point.

Giacchino’s other upcoming genre films include The Incredibles 2, War For The Planet Of The Apes and the Jurassic World sequel.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Logan Marshall-Green is playing an unnamed villain, Donald Glover is in a mystery role, Hannibal Burress is Peter Parker’s gym teacher and Martin Starr is returning to the Marvel universe after an unspeaking role as Amadeus Cho in The Incredible Hulk.
