It’s official: the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming will be called Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Star Tom Holland announced the news in an Instagram post this weekend:
The new title doesn’t give much away about the upcoming film, but it’s got a nice, poetic ring to it.
There’s not a whole lot of information regarding Spider-Man: Far From Home just yet — as Holland says, we don’t even know how Spidey is going to come into it seeing as he essentially evaporated in Avengers: Infinity War — but we do know who is attached to star and otherwise.
Jon Watts is set to return as director, and Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers have written the script.
Tom Holland is obviously returning as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, along with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Zendaya as Michelle Jones, Jacob Batalon as Ned and Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes/Vulture. Jake Gyllenhaal has also joined the cast as Quentin Beck/Mysterio.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is in cinemas from 5 July 2019. Get all the latest superhero news with every issue of SciFiNow.
