Sony Pictures’ Tom Rothman announced at CinemaCon (via SlashFilm) that the Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street duo will work on a Spider-Man animated movie that will stand alone from its live action counterparts.
The film is set for release on 20 June 2018, with Lord and Miller confirmed as writing and producing. There’s no confirmation on directors yet for the movie, which isn’t surprising given the duo’s busy schedule (which, in addition to the aforementioned franchises, includes working on developing The Flash for Warner Bros).
That’s it for details, apart from Rothman promising that the film will be “fucking awesome,” and that Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal will produce.
