With Netflix increasingly attempting to navigate their way in the feature-film market, we can present to you below a trailer for their latest attempt to make a breakthrough: sci-fi/war thriller Spectral. It has been a long time in the making (reports of it first came out three years ago), but it looks like it’s finally seeing the light of day.
Taking place in an unnamed European city, it sees a special forces unit forced to do battle with a number of unknown creatures – which apparently can’t be harmed, but are more than capable of causing damage themselves. Before long, things escalate into a skirmish that threatens all of mankind.
First-time director Nic Mathieu is on helming cast duties, with Ian Fried, John Gatins, Jamie Moss and George Nolfi penning the script, and a cast that includes James Badge Dale, Emily Mortimer, Clayne Crawford, Bruce Greenwood, Max Martini, Ryan Robbins, Ursula Parker, Cory Hardrict and Jimmy Akingbola.
Spectral will be available to stream on Netflix from 9 December 2016. For all the latest movie news, pick up the latest issue of SciFiNow.
