The second in the new line of Family Guy Star Wars parodies is almost upon us, and Fox has sent us the DVD specs for the new release.
The plot seems to follow that of The Empire Strikes Back very closely, as Blue Harvest did for A New Hope. Most of the characters reprise the same roles that they spoofed in the first release, with Peter as Han Solo, Lois as Princess Leia, Brian as Chewbacca, Stewie as Darth Vader, Chris as Luke Skywalker and Herbert as the more lascivious and legally dubious version of Ben Kenobi. Carl becomes Yoda and Mort takes on the role of Lando Calrissian.
The supplements aren’t particularly extensive for either the Blu-ray or DVD releases, and they include:
- Digital Copy (BD Only)
- Audio commentary
- Deleted scenes
- ‘The Darkside Of Poster Art’ featurette
- Animatics
- Pop-up video
These supplements apply specifically to the US version, and may change for the UK release. The American street date for both the DVD and BD versions is 22 December 2009, with an advance booking date of 25 November. The DVD will retail for $22.98, with the high definition version at $29.99. The feature runs for 44 minutes.
