SiRen trailer for VHS spin-off likes you to death

V/H/S’s “I like you” creature tears through the trailer for SiREN

We really enjoyed Gregg Bishop’s V/H/S spin-off SiREN when we caught it at FrightFest earlier this year, and now there’s a trailer ahead of its December release in the US.

The film takes Lily (Hannah Fierman), the titular creature, from David Bruckner’s excellent V/H/S short ‘Amateur Night’ and spins her off into her own feature length adventure, kind of.

John Dies At The End and Beyond The Gates’s Chase Williamson stars as a groom-to-be who gets more than he bargained for on his stag night when he unleashes a dangerous being. Unlike a lot of other movies based on shorts, SiREN doesn’t feel like something that’s been unnecessarily stretched out as there’s a wealth of weird mythology filling the film, and Fierman’s such a great creepy presence.

“One week before his big wedding day, Jonah and his groomsmen hit the town for a wild night of club hopping and debauchery. The night soon takes a twisted turn for the worse when the group is invited to the seedy underground club, 50 North 40 West, a home to the sexy side of the supernatural. After Jonah frees a seemingly imprisoned dancer, he soon realizes that the woman he has released is actually a terrifying creature of legend that will stop at nothing to claim her man. Jonah and his groomsmen soon find themselves in a deadly fight for their lives as they run from the fabled predator and the men who are determined to recapture her.”

The film also stars Justin Welborn, Michael Aaron Milligan, Hayes Mercure, Randy McDowell and Lindsey Garrett, and was written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski.

SiREN is released on 2 December in the US. No UK release date has been announced. Read what we thought here and keep up with the latest horror news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
