Silent Hill 2 gets announced

Prick up your ears game fans, a sequel to Silent Hill is on the way.

PHwS0EAD45fzzBSony Screen Gems is producing a second Silent Hill movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In news that will please fans of the original (we are not sure how many there may be), writer Roger Avary and producer Samuel Hadida will be returning in their respective roles to work on this untitled film. At this time nobody is attached to direct and the plot is under wraps.

Avary and Hadida’s Davis Films will be housing this project, and reports indicate that the film will go into production straight after Screen Gems’ Resident Evil: Afterlife is completed. So expect this one to begin shooting as early as next year. Avary is also currently penning a screenplay for Return To Castle Wolfenstein for Davis Films, so it is uncertain now whether Wolfenstein fans may be left waiting a little longer for this one to make it to screens.

SciFiNow will bring you more information on this horror sequel in the near future. So for the meantime dust off that copy of Silent Hill 2, fire up the PlayStation 2 and pray Avary and co use this as a template for the sequel.
