Sigourney Weaver will star in Chappie, the new sci-fi movie from Elysium and District 9 director Neill Blomkamp.
THR reports that the sci-fi icon has joined the cast of Chappie, alongside Sharlto Copley, Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel and Die Antwoord.
“After being kidnapped by two criminals during birth, Chappie becomes the adopted son in a strange and dysfunctional family. Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot.” Production is currently underway in Johannesburg on the film.
