xfiles.jpgFilming on the X Files movie sequel in Vancouver has wrapped, with the cast and director Chris Carter revealing that many of their actions over the past few months, including numerous photos that found their way onto the net, have been part of a cunning ruse.

‘We’ve had a lot of paparazzi,” Carter has said of the media interest in the sequel to the hit Nineties show, but Fox Mulder himself, David Duchovny, has revealed that they have been using this interest to their advantage, and to their own amusement too it would seem. Photos of a kiss between Mulder and Scully (Gillian Anderson) were ‘staged’ according to Duchovny, and it is highly likely that the images that surfaced a while back of a crew member on set brandishing a werewolf head prop were just part of a similar game of misdirection.

The X Files 2 movie is due for release this summer, and co-stars Billy Connolly and Amanda Peet.
