The Wachowskis and J Michael Straczynski have unveiled the cast and plot synopsis for their upcoming Netflix series Sense8.
Straczynski told Deadline that “the series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally. They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.”
The cast includes Naveen Andrews (Lost), Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill), Doona Bae (Cloud Atlas), Tuppence Middleton (Jupiter Ascending), Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who), Brian J. Smith (Stargate Universe), Ami Ameen (The Maze Runner), Tena Desae (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel), Max Riemelt (The Wave), Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra, Jamie Clayton (Hung), Miguel Silvestre (I’m So Excited!) and Terrence Mann.
The site reports that Smith, Middleton, Ameen, Bae, Silvestre, Desae, Riemelt and Clayton will be playing the characters at the centre of the show.
Sense8 will comprise 10 episodes, and is expected to be available on Netflix next year.
