Real life drama is unfolding around the already extremely dramatic Netflix sci-fi Sense8: according to Deadline, Capheus actor Aml Ameen has abruptly dropped out of the show due to “creative differences”.
Replacing him is recent San Diego MFA acting graduate Toby Onwumere. As far as TV and film credits are concerned, Onwumere has so far only appeared in an episode of The Book Of Dallas back in 2012, but we’re immensely excited to see what he brings to the show in his new role.
The news was also confirmed by cast members Brian J Smith, Tuppence Middleton and Jamie Clayton, who all tweeted out links to the Deadline article last night. Clayton, who plays fan favourite sensate Nomi Marks, then took part in a Twitter Q&A with fans of the show. Her responses to inevitable concerns were quite telling, suggesting the “creative differences” might have been a falling out:
It’s really not. Hate is horrible. Intolerance is horrible. #Sense8 IS LOVE. https://t.co/fpm9g1JFd2

On a lighter (but equally exciting) note, Clayton might have also just dropped some news regarding when Sense8 Season 2 will air:
