Lord Of The Rings‘ Sean Astin, voted Hobbit Least Likely To Succeed, has signed up for a reboot of Eli Roth‘s Cabin Fever, joining a cast that already includes such hard-hitting genre names as Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel‘s Brando Eaton and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules‘ Ben Hollingsworth.
Entitled Cabin Fever: Patient Zero and due to begin filming in the Dominican Republic in August under director Kaare Andrews and from a script by The Hitcher‘s Jake Wade Wall, which according to The Hollywood Reporter, involves “a bachelor party cruise in the Caribbean unexpectedly runs ashore on a medical research island and a deadly virus is unleashed. The passengers must struggle to find a way to survive before their own demons and the flesh-eating bacteria consumes them all.”
The fun doesn’t stop there, the sequel Cabin Fever: Outbreak is also in production.
