More brief news flashes from what we’re hearing on the ground in San Diego.

As the Con rolls on, our reporters in the field are feeding us bits and pieces of information as they go. Proper stories on these will appear later on, however, for now we’ll bring you brief news flashes about the most important information coming out of Hall H and elsewhere.

District 9

The early buzz about District 9 is nothing short of stellar. We’re hearing that the film was made for a mere $30 million, and that all of the alien effects were created in CGI. More on this shortly.

James McAvoy will be reprising his role from the first film, but there is no word on whether Angelina Jolie will return yet.

Jonah Hex

James Cameron revealed that he will be showing 15 minutes of his new presentation Avatar at IMAX cinemas around the United States on 21 August.

More news will be uploaded as and when we receive it.
