It’s fair to say Scream The TV Series‘ first season wasn’t popular with everyone, but fans of the show are treated to a triple-load of news about Season 2 today. So here goes…

NEWS 1: There’s not long to wait; MTV has revealed that Scream Season 2 will premiere on 31 May on MTV in the US, with a brand new killer wreaking havoc on the town of Lakewood. We’re presuming that, much like with Season 1, UK fans will be able to catch the new episodes shortly after on Netflix.

NEWS 2: Scream Season 2 is bringing in loads of new cast members. Here’s MTV’s descriptions of the characters being introduced:

Kiana Ledé as Zoe – “an overachieving H.S. student who harbors a secret. Ledé is with Orange Factory Music and signed with Republic Records.”

Austin Highsmith as Karen Lang – “a young, idealistic high school psychology teacher who becomes a confidant and mentor to her students. Her credits include Murder in the First and Criminal Minds.”

Karina Logue as Tina Hudson – “proper and polite but has a grifter’s sense of self-reliance. Logue’s credits include Ray Donovan and Bates Motel.”

Sean Grandillo as Eli – “Kieran’s cousin who seems squeaky-clean but may have ulterior motives. His credits include Broadway’s Spring Awakening.

Anthony Ruivivar as Sheriff Michael Acosta – “grew up in Lakewood and has returned just in time for the new killing spree. His credits include Banshee and American Horror Story.

Santiago Segura as Sheriff Acosta’s son Gustavo – “a dark and brooding H.S. student who’s deeply into comic books, horror and (what else?) serial killers. His credits include 47 Meters Down and Silicon Valley.”
