Having seen her star very much on the rise thanks to appearances in the likes of The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar and Les Miserables, Anne Hathaway is set to add another string to her bow, with The Hollywood Reporter announcing that she will produce and star in the upcoming sci-fi comedy The Shower.
Taking place at a baby shower, a subsequent asteroid shower sees the local menfolk being turned into bloodthirsty monsters, forcing Hathaway and co to stave off the menace. Her husband Adam Shulman (Ricki And The Flash) will also produce, alongside Andrew Lauren (The Squid And The Whale) and DJ Gugenheim (Silent Night).
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Hathaway was full of praise for the script, written by Jac Schaeffer (TiMER). “Jac has written an awesome sci-fi comedy centered around funny, fully dimensional female characters. I feel so lucky to be a part of the team that will bring her enormously talented and fresh voice to the big screen.”
A release date for The Shower is yet to be announced. For more on the biggest movies, pick up the latest issue of SciFiNow.
