A proposed Scanners reboot, scripted by The Dark Knight Rises‘ David S Goyer, has fallen by the wayside, but Deadline has revealed that David Cronenberg’s classic sci-fi schlock fest is being revisited as a TV series under the helm of Switchblade Romance and The Hills Have Eyes director Alexandre Aja.
Given a mandate to ‘develop’ the project, Aja may also be directing the pilot, with Rene Malo, Monster/Wishmaster‘s Clark Peterson and original Scanners producer Pierre David as executive producers.
