Santa Clarita Diet Season 2 is confirmed by Netflix

Drew Barrymore is going to keep eating people in Santa Clarita Diet Season 2

Netflix’s suburban zombie sitcom Santa Clarita Diet will be returning for a second season in 2018, as confirmed by this cheery little teaser from Netflix here.

In case you haven’t got around to watching the first season yet, it stars Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, Liv Hewson and Skyler Gisondo, and follows a Californian family struggling to cope with the fact that mum is turning into a zombie. Can Joel and Sheila continue to make their marriage work even as they find fresh human body parts for her to eat? And what impact is this going to have on their daughter Abby (Hewson)?

The show is created by Better Off Ted‘s Victor Fresco, and the first season’s directors included Ruben Fleischer, Lynn Shelton, Dean Parisot and Tamra Davis. There were some excellent guest stars, like Nathan Fillion, Patton Oswalt, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Natalie Morales, Thomas Lennon and the great Grace Zabriskie.

The first season ended on a cliffhanger, but we can tell you that we definitely want to see more of Portia De Rossi’s Dr Cora Wolf, who showed up right towards the end of the first run and pretty much stole the whole damn show.

Santa Clarita Diet Season One is available to stream now on Netflix. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
