Sam Raimi has reportedly signed on to produce monster horror feature Refuge. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, this film takes place in a small town at the foot of the Himalayas that is being plagued by a Yeti creature.
Brit director Corin Hardy is directing this feature and Tom De Ville has written the script. The film is being set up at Mandate, which is an affiliate of Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures.
The last time we saw a Yeti on the big screen was in The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor, during a multiple monster ruck. One high-five later and our hopes for these furry beasts ever appearing in future films dipped somewhat. But with Raimi presiding over this project, there could be hope yet for the Himalayas’ finest gaining some cred on screens.
Refuge is yet to go into production and hasn’t been given a shooting date.
