Rogue One posters give main characters their close-ups

Up close and personal with the cast of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Hot on the heels of last week’s new poster and trailer comes a whole bunch of new posters – eight, to be precise – for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, with the main characters all getting their close-ups.

Of course, the aim of the game (well, movie) is for the Rebels to get their hands on the plans for the Empire’s new superweapon, the Death Star. You can see it in their eyes – or their face, rather – everything very much takes place in the shadow of the moon-sized battlestation.

In no particular order, we have: Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen), Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang), K2SO (Alan Tudyk), Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) and Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), all looking suitably serious/formidable.

Also in the cast are Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa, Valene Kane as Lyra Erso and James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader, with Gareth Edwards directing from a script penned by Chris Weitz, Gary Whitta, John Knoll and Tony Gilroy.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released in cinemas on 16 December 2016.
