Rogue One: new posters and Mon Mothma pic revealed

More pics from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story have been released

Rogue One day is approaching, and with it are a whole host of new posters and images from Disney’s first Star Wars anthology movie.

First up, we have these two posters from Mexico’s promotional campaign – which incidentally look pretty similar to our own one. One has Yavin IV as the backdrop, and the other the new tropical planet of Scarif.

Then there’s these two banner posters – one showing the Rebels, Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), K2S0 (Alan Tudyk), Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen), Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang) and Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed) advancing on their foes, who turn out (unsurprisingly) to be a whole host of Stormtroopers, with the Death Star looming ominously overhead.

Finally, there’s a nice promotional shot of Rebellion leader Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly). Having not seen much of her in the build-up aside from her appearance in the first teaser trailer, it’s good to see that she’s involved enough to warrant a promotional poster. Hopefully there’s one on the way for Bail Organa too.

Below is the official synopsis:

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

Also starring are Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Jimmy Smits and James Earl Jones. Gareth Edwards is on directing duties, working from a script penned by Gary Whitta, Chris Weitz, Tony Gilroy and John Knoll.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released in cinemas on 16 December 2016. For all the latest movie news, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
