Rogue One: new pics show new side to Star Wars galaxy

Get new looks at Darth Vader, Bodhi Rook and more in these Rogue One pics

It’s a case of another day, and another step closer to the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Everyone’s excited, and we’re no exception. For proof, read our bumper cover feature in issue 126 of SciFiNow.

In the meantime, Entertainment Weekly have released a whole load of new photos from Disney’s first Star Wars anthology movie. While they don’t exactly say anything new about the plot, they do give us new looks at characters like Director Krennic, Bodhi Cook and none other than Darth Vader, in addition to the shot of Krennic’s Death Troopers walking over the grassy knoll of Lah’mu – as it’s called, and X-Wing fighters attacking the Empire’s Space Gate.

Moreover, there are first looks at new characters, such as Tivik (played by Daniel Mays), as well as a group shop featuring senators Jebel (Jonathan Aris), Vaspar (Fares Fares). and Pamlo (Sharon Duncan-Brewster). Clearly there’s plenty to look forward to.

In the meantime, here’s the official synopsis:

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens in U.S. theaters on December 16, 2016.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released in cinemas on 16 December 2016. Read our full feature – including interviews with Felicity Jones, Gareth Edwards, Donnie Yen and Wen Jiang – in issue 126 of SciFiNow, on sale now.
