Rocky Horror remake finds the best Frank-N-Furter

Fox’s Rocky Horror remake picks Orange Is The New Black star for its lead

With the lack of recent news on Fox’s proposed remake of the iconic Rocky Horror Picture Show, you could be forgiven for thinking this might be dead in the water. Well, fear not, as according to Collider, not only is it still on, but it has found someone for the role of Doctor Frank-N-Furter: none other than the Emmy award-winning Laverne Cox.

Anyone who’s seen her in the excellent Orange Is The New Black as Sophia will applaud the choice of Cox, with the actress consistently being one of the best things about the award-winning show. It would take a lot for someone to step into the shoes of Tim Curry, but in Cox, it’s hard to imagine anyone more perfect for the role.

Displaying a mixture of sass, strength and vulnerability in her performances, the creators of the Rocky Horror remake have clearly done their homework. We can’t wait to see what else it has in store.
