A couple of days ago, House star Hugh Laurie was revealed to be no longer attached to MGM’s reboot of Eighties action thriller RoboCop as the main villain and possible head of the villainous OmniCorp (OCP in the original), but now Deadline is reporting that a number of actors are in talks to take on the role, and one of them is Children Of Men‘s Clive Owen.

If cast, Owen will join The Killing‘s Joel Kinnaman, Sucker Punch‘s Abbie Cornish, Watchmen‘s Jackie Earle Haley and undisputed genre heavyweights Gary Oldman and Samuel L Jackson.

RoboCop is expected in cinemas 9 August 2013.
